Orders in Ubuntu

Probably this post should have been one of my first post, but it doesn't matter, I post it now.

sudo Run something as admin
sudo su It opens a terminal in admin. mode.

"THE [  ]  AREN'T NECESSARY.

Install, unistall and updates
sudo apt-get update Update repositories 
sudo apt-get upgrade Look for upgrades.
sudo apt-get autoclean Clean the cache.
sudo apt-get purge Clean the config. files.
sudo apt-get purge [package] Unistall and clean everything of a package.
sudo apt-get istall [package] Install  package.
sudo apt-get remove [package] Unistall a package
sudo apt-get autoremove Unistall innecessary packages
sudo add-apt-repository [repository ppa] Add a repository
 Files
The sudo on this part can be necessary sometimes:

cp [file] Copy a file
rm [file] Delete a file
rm -r  [folder]  Delete a Folder
ls [folder] Show  the content of a folder
cd [folder] Go to.... folder
cd Go to user folder (home)
mkdir [directory/newfolder] Create a new folder on the [directory].
mv [1st directory] [2nd directory] Move a file from 1st directory to 2nd directory.
mv [1st directory] [1st directory (different name of the file] Change name.
find [directory] -name [name] Looks for a file with the name ______.

Other


ps -AL Shows everything that's running
sudo kill [number] Close a program qith that number listed in the "ps -AL".
clear Clean the terminal
sudo passwd Change password


dpkg



sudo dpkg -i  [package] Install  package.
sudo dpkg -r  [package] Unistall a package
sudo dpkg -r -purge [package] Unistall and clean everything of a package.
